Youth is the Future of every nation & inheritors of the earth tomorrow. This statement stands true in every sense. When a country has a healthy youth population, you will find the country making headway in terms of overall development and progress.
Our world today has transited into a ‘Technology Era’. Technology has enabled progress in all fields and all societies. Technological revolution has changed the face of lives of people bringing healthcare, information and connectivity to even the most remote areas.
Progress and development go hand and hand. The challenges faced by our country today are unemployment and poverty. The unemployment rate in January 2018 was estimated at 5.3 percent. By educational attainment, 21.9 percent of the unemployed were college graduates, 13.7 percent were college undergraduates, and 29.4 percent have completed junior high school. With solid economic fundamentals, the Philippines is well-placed to speed up poverty reduction. The challenge is to provide more economic opportunities, which would help many more people earn higher and stable incomes.
Entrepreneurship can provide the solution by creating wealth, jobs, and social empowerment. If we are to address the issue of poverty with some degree of success, history tells us we have no choice but to actively encourage entrepreneurial ventures.
