To is similar like a mockingbird because

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee has many symbols that represents different characters. The symbol that stands out the most is Mockingbird. Mockingbird in this novel represents innocence. Innocence is to have purity and integrity. Many of the characters can me identified as a Mockingbird for example Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, and Calpurnia. Atticus tells Scout and Jem that it is a sin to kill a mockingbird. Miss Maudie says that is because mockingbirds do nothing but make beautiful music. Based on this, mockingbird is someone who does good all the time.
Tom Robinson symbol is a mockingbird. For example, Tom Robinson said, “She’d call me in, suh. Seemed liked every time I passed by yonder she’d have some little somethin’ for me to do -choppin’ kindlin’, totin’ water for her.” This shows that he was doing kind acts for his neighbors with nothing in return. This is important because he innocent of the charges of raping Mayella and people will not believe him because of his color. Another example is, Tom Robinson got killed Atticus says, “I guess Tom was tired of white men’s chances and preferred to take this own.” This shows that Tom Robinson did not believe that he would have a chance of winning in court against a white jury. This is important because due to racism he decided that he would rather try to escape prison. Tom Robinson is similar like a mockingbird because he helps out his neighbors without being paid when he needs the money.
Boo Radley is identifying a mockingbird because the way he is treated. For example, Atticus tells Scout “Boo Radley. You were so busy looking at the fire you didn’t know it when he put the blanket around you.” This shows that Boo is does not want to harm anyone. This is important because Boo’s father was cruel to him when he did nothing. Another example is, “Scout realizes the man is and who rescued her and Jem.” This shows that Boo feel a connection with Jem and Scout, and wants to protect them from danger. This important because people gossip and judge him, he just wants friends and the closest people are Jem and Scout. Boo Radley is like a mockingbird because he is innocent and people just want to hurt him. How mockingbirds sings Boo Radley minds his own business and protects the children.
Calpurnia is in her own way a mockingbird. She cares for Jem and Scout, even though that is her job she a mother figure. The Calpurnia first taught Scout to have good manners. For example, Calpurnia told Scout “Hush your mouth! Don’t matter who they are, anybody sets foot in this house’s yo’ comp’ny, and don’t you let me catch you remarkin’ on their ways like you was so high and mighty!” This shows that she cares for the children as her own, but she does not need to say anything to Scout. This is important because Calpurnia acts like a parent to Jem and Scout when her job is to cook and clean. People who has jobs like that is never acts like a big role in the family. Another example, “Lula stopped, but she said, ‘You ain’t got no business bringin’ white chillun here–they got their church, we got our’n. It is our church, ain’t it, Miss Cal?’ Calpurnia said, ‘It’s the same God, ain’t it?'” This shows that even if they are white she will stand up for Scout and Jem because she loves them as her own. This is important because she could have not say anything at all or say something bad. Calpurnia may not be Scout’s and Jem’s mother but she does a good job at teaching the children how to have good manners.
Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, and Calpurnia are similar of a mockingbird. They do not do anything bad only good. Mockingbird carries a great deal of symbolic weight in the novel. Through the novel innocents is being damaged by evil. Mockingbird also symbolizes goodness and beauty. All of these characters who have done well for others, without rewards.
This symbol is significant because now days you can judge someone in five seconds or less. The main items people judge is face values and what they hear upon that person. People do not wait to think of the possibilities that led someone talk or act differently. Boo Radley was misunderstood by many people but only Scout and Jem took time to understand him.
