In the name of ALLAH ALMIGHTY, the most Beneficent,
the Merciful, the Creator of world, the King of the kings, without whose mercy
and grace this endeavour could not be possible. It is the grace of ALLAH and
Love of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him), whose gracious favours enabled us
to complete such a hard research work successfully.

First of all, we are very grateful that we have
completed our final year project. We would like to express our gratitude to all
those who gave us the possibility to achieve this success. In particular, we
wish to express our sincere appreciation to our supervisor, Engr. Usman Nasim
for his guidance and co-operation that had been given throughout the progress.

We also would like to express our gratitude to Faculty
of Electrical Engineering. In addition, our sincere appreciation also extends
to all our colleagues and others who have provided assistance at various
occasions. Not to be forgotten, our deepest thanks to our parents for all
support and blessings. The great cooperation and kind heartedness to share
worth experiences that have been shown by them will be always appreciated and
treasured by us.

Thank You.

Abstract

There is  need to design a cost effective, more
reliable and efficient automatic wheel chair for those people who are disable
and cannot move without the help of others. We have designed a Tilt Sensor
Based Electric Wheel Chair, the purpose of this product is to make disabled
people independent from others so that they can move on their own wishes and
can go everywhere they want to go. It consists of a wheel chair, geared
assembly coupled with DC geared motors which are attached to the wheels of
chair. Mems Accelerometer Sensor is used to move the wheel chair in the left,
right, reverse and in the forward direction. Controller is PIC 16F877A which
records the signals and make decisions and then sends the corresponding signals
to the H-Bridges which are used to drive the motors according to the signals
given by the controller. To avoid from obstacles Ultrasonic sensor are placed
in front and back end of wheel chair. It is complete product for the disabled
people so that they can move easily and without any fear can go everywhere.
