This paragraph is about the significance the flamethrower

This is the essay that will talk about who created the flamethrower and which side used it. How the technology worked and its military uses. The effectiveness of the flamethrower and its weaknesses. Also, if the flamethrower had a significance during WWI.  During World War I the Germans used the flamethrower.

It was invented by Richard Fiedler. Robert actually invented two flamethrowers, one small, and one large version in the early nineteen hundreds. The smaller flamethrower called the Kleinflammenwerfer could be used by one person. While the larger flamethrower called the Grossflammenwerfer could not be used by only one person. The first time the Germans used the flamethrower was in nineteen eleven in three specialist battalions.

This paragraph is about how the flamethrower worked and its military uses. On the soldier’s back there was a tank of fuel. The soldier then had a handle which when he clutched the handle it would spray fire.

The reason it would spray fire is because the fuel on the soldier’s back would burn (Not the soldier though) since fuel is really flammable. It made the enemy line get worried which then the Germans could make the enemy’s fright benefit from it. One of the most memorable battles was an attack on the British. It was located at Hooge. The Germans killed around 800 soldiers, the way the Germans killed around 800 is by pushing the British from their trenches. Even though the flamethrower was pretty deadly it did have some weaknesses. One, the men who were using the flamethrowers didn’t live very long.

Two, there was also, and chance where are gas cylinder could explode. Also, if one of the people were captured they were more than likely not going to be treated very well. Another reason is that the enemies could easily find where the people with the flamethrowers were and kill them.This paragraph is about the significance the flamethrower had during WWI.
