The Beatles were an English rock band formed inLiverpool, England in 1960. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, GeorgeHarrison and Ringo Starr, they became known as one of the most influential actof the rock era.    The story of the Beatles and how they came tobe started when John Lennon formed his own group, called the Quarrymen, withseveral friends from Quarry Bank High School.

Paul McCartney joined this groupas a guitarist shortly after meeting Lennon at a concert. Much time laterfourteen year old George Harrison, auditioned for Lennon, impressing him withhis playing and join the band. About a year later While Lennon began studies atthe Liverpool College of Art Lennon’s quarry bank friends left the group but thethree guitarists continued to play in and around Liverpool as Johnny and theMoondogs. Then Lennon’s art school friend Stuart Sutcliffe joined the group andsuggested changing the band’s name to Beatals, as a tribute to Buddy Holly andthe Crickets. Their name then went through several changes over the comingmonths. And at one point they called themselves the Silver Beatles buteventually turn into Beatles.     BrianEpstein at the time was a record store owner in Liverpool. So one night he wentto watch the Beatles perform at concert.

His first impression, “they appearedlike most young Liverpudlians at the time: uncouth hair, leather jackets anddark trousers. But when performing they played, their mixture created somethingwonderful. Something about their energy when together” Brain was truly inspiredto become their manager. After seven weeks at the top of thecharts, it dropped to number two to make room for “She Loves You,”which gave way to “Can’t Buy Me Love.” As many as three new songs aweek were released, until April 4, 1964, when the Beatles held the top fiveslots on the Billboard. They also had another seven songs in the top onehundred, plus four album positions, included in the top two.     In 1964the Beatles appeared in the film “A Hard Day’s Night” which was created sendingthe images to even the smallest towns and earning them a worldwide reputationfor being the happy go lucky fab four they were. Additional the movie was analbum of the same exact name, This have impacted their career even higher.    As the Beatleswere getting better the band went across cities, states and even countries in amatter of months.

But being the superstars comes with responsibility, now theyhad fans to attend to, those loyal people who could never get enoughBeatlemania. They recognized a pattern of constantly pushing the limits of bothsociety and the music industry. The Beatles’ 1965 and 1966 albums Rubber Souland Revolver marked a turning point in the band’s recording history.       Also theBeatles was at the point of changing rock and roll. Turning up the originalityinto  notches for their previous albums,the Beatles did their most creative work to date with Sgt. Pepper’s LonelyHearts Club Band. Many people believe it will remain timeless.

It containscreative melodies and songs about many life experiences, philosophy, and unusualimagery. The Beatles’ music had evolved from catchy love songs to profoundballads and social observation.      TheBeatles also visited Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the man becoming famous in Americafor bringing an ancient Indian technique of thought to the world. Seekingspiritual knowledge just as we all were, the Beatles traveled to India with thehopes of gaining enlightenment. The band member had a different experiencethere, creating a larger rift between them. They came back unfulfilled on onelevel but full of vision on another.

Magical Mystery Tour was finished shortlyafter, releasing both the movie and the album before the end of the year.    Unfortunately,the band felt they were running out of steam. Tensions had grown and theoverall feeling was that the Beatles were near their end. A final album wasplanned, but even the details of it could not be agreed upon. The producerfavored Paul’s ideas, causing John to withdraw from many sessions inresentment. George and Ringo felt unneeded and refused to show up at manyrehearsals.

Paul tried to convince the others to do a handful of concerts tore-establish their core group of fans. John and George were against the idea.What resulted was the famous rooftop concert staged in London. And John saidthe famous line “I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the group andourselves, and I hope we passed the audition!”     JohnLennon was murder on December 8, 1980, in New York City. By Mark David Chapman,reason of his action was due to John Lennon had said “thatthe Beatles were more popular than Jesus.”  however, new music was released under theoriginal band name.

The remaining Beatles played over songs Lennon had left ontape. The singles “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love” werereleased as parts of albums featuring material from earlier Beatles recordingsessions. Much year’s later George Harrison died on November 29, 2001, in LosAngeles,  due to brain cancer. But that didn’tstop both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr continues to record.

The Beatles were a major influence not only in rockand roll but also in the creation of modern popular music. The Beatles wereinducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
