Thank you for inviting me to this interview. My name is chu ting ting. I am currently studying at Queen Elizabeth hospital School of General Nursing.
I am very interested in this programme. The first reason is the core courses can help me develop the professional competency with a strong foundation of theory. For example in Nursing research. It is fundamental to nursing practice. Nurses should use the best available research evidence as a basis for collaborating in planning patient care. Moreover, combining with the EBP course, we can learn more about how to integrate the best research practice with clinical expertise and client value in delivery of optimal nursing care.
Besides, in the elective courses, I have a keen interest in public health stream. It can help me to identify and analyze contemporary health issues in Hong Kong. Public health is important in nursing as it aims to prevent disease, promote health, and prolong life among the population as a whole. With the rapid increase in the number of people suffering from non communicable and infectious diseases, we should emphasize the importance of public health.
Finally, I think the outstanding education quality of this programme can help me acquire in-depth and theoretical knowledge and promote evidence-based practice. Therefore, I can get well prepared for advanced practice in the clinical setting.
