Poverty is more than just an economic issue, it’s a founding motivator for political conflict, education inequality, discrimination, and a ton of major socio-political concerns. The goal is to end poverty in all its forms everywhere by the year 2030. To achieve this goal, everyone in society must be protected against things like unemployment and has access to support services like medical care. This is social protection and is there to protect and support the most vulnerable and the poorest people.
It is also important to make sure that all the resources are available to implement social policies that can help people who have less money to still have equal access to basic services, land, technology and labour. Build the resilience of people with less money so that they are better protected from climate-related extreme events, like floods and droughts, and other economic, social and environmental shocks. It is very important to be informed and urge our governments to listen to us.
