On Friday July 1st, 1988 Clark Atlanta was founded with the consolidation of Clark College which was founded in 1869. Clark Atlanta University is a member of the United Negro College Fund and is the largest institution in the Atlanta University Center Consortium. Clark Atlanta University is a comprehensive, private, urban, coeducational institution of higher education with a predominantly African-American heritage.
It offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees as well as certificate programs to students of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Clark Atlanta has a total undergraduate enrollment of 3,093, and the campus size is 126 acres. They off many different majors, courses and different extracurricular activities which include; Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs; Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Visual and Performing Arts; Biological and Biomedical Sciences; and Psychology, choral Groups, Concert Band, Dance, Drama, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Music Ensembles, Music Theater, Pep Band, Radio Station, Sports, Student Film, TV Station, Yearbook, and many more.
Aside from those things they have a honors program, greek-letter organizations, religious groups and organizations. On the campus of Clark Atlanta University there are many things that can keep you busy and keep your mind diverse, positive and always working. Also since Clark is apart of the Atlanta University Center Consortium there are many great colleges and universities nearby. The institutions included in this consortium are Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College and the Morehouse School of Medicine. The consortium structure allows for students to cross-register at the other institutions in order to attain a broader collegiate experience. They also share the Robert W. Woodruff Library, a Dual Degree Engineering Program and Career Planning and Placement Services.
