Individualsare fooled by the quantity and they tend to eat more. Thus, without knowing,they consume a lot of calories. This is a major example on how people can eatso many calories, and without even knowing, which can easily lead to obesity.   Add to that, junk food is loaded with saltthe thing that leads to high blood pressure.

Even low-fat foods and low-calorieare often loaded with salt to make them taste better. But high levels of saltintake can lead to high blood pressure, particularly in those who have sodiumsensitivities and are obese, according to the American Heart Association.    Moreover,junk food causes another health condition that is diabetes. Per CARDIA study,consuming junk food more than twice per week was strongly associated withinsulin resistance and increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

   In addition, eating fast food can lead toheart disease. According to the USDA, fast foods make a much higher risk ofheart disease because of the high level of saturated or trans fats found in it,especially those who consume junk food four or more times a week.    Lastbut not least, people regularly eating fast food – such as pizzas, burgers andchicken nuggets leads to cancer. Emma Shields, Cancer Research UK’s healthinformation officer, said: “High-calorie foods like fast food can promoteweight gain, and obesity can cause 13 types of cancer, so it is a good idea tokeep these foods just for occasional treats.”   However, opponents claim that fast food isone of the easiest and inexpensive ways of eating. It saves money and time,especially for individuals who are coming home from work. It’s clear that thereis no better or quicker way to satisfy your empty stomach.

But, what preciselyis the price to pay once you’ve had your fill, and now you have new diseasesfrom eating at fast food restaurants? Studies done in the United States show thatfood-borne diseases have been expected to cause 6 million to 81 millionillnesses and up to 9,000deaths each year. Anyone one of these numbers can be from someone’s family!Most of these bacteria are found in the food you eat from your local fast foodjoint. Eating at one of the fast food restaurants can cost thousands of dollarsin hospital bills, all because of a spoiled burger for example.

    In conclusion, everyone should think twicebefore deciding to eat fast food, since it contain health risks such asobesity, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Althoughit is easy to buy and cheap as opponents claim, but risking a life forsomething that isn’t good for any person in the first place could costthousands of dollars in hospital bills. So, don’t be lazy! You can consecutively decrease the frequency ofeating junk food and try to eat more homemade foods.
