Summer is the rainiest season almost everywhere. The temperature increases gradually from north to south, so that the south has a purely tropical climate.
Altitude plays an important role as well: there are many cities located at high altitude, including the capital, which have a cooler climate. During winter, a cold wind from the United States, the “Norte” can blow, able to lower the temperature abruptly, especially in the centre-north. Because of this wind, the northern inland areas (and a little less the northern coastal areas) during winter may experience cold waves, especially in hilly and mountainous areas. *Vegetation: The four types of vegetation in Mexico divided into two important biogeographic zones by the Tropic of Cancer: Tropical vegetation, with both deciduous and rain forests; pine-oak forests, with coniferous and Quercus- Pinus forests; cloud, subtropical, or mesophytic forests; and arid or xerophytic vegetation. Meadows exist in all four cases. CULTURE / TRADITIONS: *September 16: Independence Day is a Mexican holiday to celebrate the “cry of independence” on September 16, 1810, which started a revolt against the Spaniards. It follows from the day of the Cry of Dolore, on September 15.*Dia de Muertos: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) El Dia de los Muertos ( Day of the Dead), a Mexican celebration, is a day to celebrate, remember and prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed.
… It is believed that the spirit of the dead visit their families on October 31 and leave on November 2.*Festival del Globo:Festival Internacional del Globo is a 4 day event being held from 16th November to 19th November 2018 at the in Leon, Mexico.
This event is about fun time with family and friends, it’s about food and beverages. This event showcases hot air balloon. FOOD/DRINK:*Chilachiles:This popular traditional breakfast fried corn tortillas cut into quarters and topped with green or red salsa. Scrambled or fried eggs and pulled chicken are usually added on top, as well as cheese and cream. Chilaquiles are often served with a dose of frijoles.
*Pozole: Made from hominy corn with plenty of herbs and spices, the dish is traditionally stewed for hours, often overnight. Once ready to serve, lettuce, radish, onion, lime and chilli are sprinkled on top. *Mole:There are myriad types of mole but all contain around 20 or so ingredients, including one or more varieties of chilli peppers, and all require constant stirring over a long period of time. Perhaps the best-known mole is mole poblano, a rusty red sauce typically served over turkey or chicken.*Michelada:The most classic “cerveza preparada” in Mexico, the michelada is essentially a Mexican cocktail made with beer, lime juice and tomato juice or clamato.
*Pulque:Pulque is the ancestor to tequila and dates back to the Aztec times, when pulque was a highly esteemed drink of the elders, priests and warriors — the myth says it was so highly regarded because it came straight from the 400 breasts of the goddess Mayahuel. ATTRACTIONS:*Museo Nacional de Antropologia: The National Museum of Anthropology is a national museum of Mexico. It is the largest and most visited museum in Mexico. It’s a beautiful place to learn about the culture.*Guadalajara Zoo:Guadalajara Zoo, located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, is Mexico’s largest zoo. Its ecological reserve, measuring over one square mile, sits within the Canyon Huentitán. The zoo is home to 3,885 animals belonging to 392 different species.
About 99 are mammals, 87 are birds, 67 are reptiles, eight are amphibians and 131 are fish. The Herpetario section of the zoo houses crocodiles, snakes, iguanas, turtles and other arthropods. Those interested in veterinary science should visit the Veterinary Rancho, where veterinarians teach you how to interact with domestic animals. A narrated train ride takes visitors throughout the park.Coral Reef Aquarium:Now you can explore the colorful coral reefs visiting the Aquarium in Xcaret and discover the natural treasures of the Caribbean Sea!
