• Clément Gascon was raised in Montreal Quebec. He was called to the Quebec bar in 1982 and continue to practice law for 21 years. When he was a lawyer he taught business law, labour law and construction law at the Université du Québec à Montréa• Suzanne Côté was raised in Gaspé Peninsula which is a region in Quebec. In 1981 she had received her LL.B from Université Laval and was called to the Quebec Bar. In 2014 she was noticed as one of the best lawyers in Canada. She had argued cases in the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada.
She has given lectures at the Université du Québec à Rimouski and at the Université de Montréal involving various areas of the law. Before she was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada She was a partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. There she was head of the Montréal office’s litigation group.
• Russell Brown was raised in British Columbia. He received his Bachelor of Laws in 1994 and his Master of Laws in 2003. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 1995. From 2004- 2013 he was a professor at the university of Alberta and the dean of faculty of law. Before he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada he was appointed to the courts of appeal in Alberta • Malcolm Rowe was raised in Newfoundland and Labrador.
He earned his LL.B at Osgoode Hall Law School from 1975-78. He was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 1978. In the early 1990s he was a lecturer for two years at the university of Ottawa. Before he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada he served as a member of the Canadian superior court judges.
• Sheilah L. Marti was raised in Montreal. She earned a Bachelor of civil law and common law in 1981. She then received a Master of Laws in 1983 and was called to the Alberta bar in 1989.
She was a law professor from 1982-1986 and eventually worked her way up to the dean of faculty law from 1991-1996. Before being appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada she was appointed to the courts of appeal in Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
