Imagine stake of holly through his heart.

Imagine walking alone down an endless
pathway, with only pain and emotional suffering as you continue the search for happiness and comfort that you hope to find with others. The Christmas
Carol written by Charles Dicken, tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a guy who hates
everything to do with Christmas when three ghosts
come and visit him and show him clips of
his past life, present life, and his future life. The essay I’m writing is to let you know how Scrooge
physical appearance speaks volumes on
what type of person he is, challenges he faces
in his childhood created him to be angry in his adulthood, and how he learned
to love Christmas.

Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out generous
fire; secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster. The cold within
him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, shriveled his cheek,
stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his thin lips blue; and spoke out
shrewdly in his grating voice. A frosty rime was on his head, and on his eyebrows,
and his wiry chin. He carried his low
temperature always about with him. (1.7) Scrooge physical appearance applies that he’s cold which reveal that he’s lonely. Scrooge stays alone in a big
building that isn’t housing, rarely eat, and he communicates
with only a few people. If no one
knows you exist
are you living, that represents Scrooge’s
life. He’s dead. When the body begins to  freeze to the death, it begin to  turns blue,
which in Stanza one its say “his thin lips blue.”
…… “What else can I
be,” returned the uncle, “when I live in such a world of fools as this? Merry
Christmas! Out upon merry Christmas! What ‘s Christmas
time to you but a time for paying bills without money; a time for finding
yourself a year older, but not an hour richer; a time for balancing your books
and having every item in ’em through round dozens of months presents deadly against you? If I could work my will,” said
Scrooge indignantly, “every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his
lips, should be boiled with his pudding, and buried with a stake of holly
through his heart. He should!” () The Christmas season is the time spent with
family and friends enjoying the holiday by putting a Christmas Tree,
putting up lights outside the house,
having ugly Christmas sweater parties, and creating gingerbread houses. All
those activities require a team. When trapped in a cold area with no access to heat, most people bundle with other bodies
to create body heat. Since Scrooge does not
have anybody he can group within the cold, he’s angry, and he has every
right to be mad because no one is happy
when there freezing. That’s one of the reasons why Scrooge has antipathy toward the
holidays because putting up a Christmas
Tree cannot be done. People’s background inevitably influences their personality
and personal development. Ebenezer Scrooge had a challenging upbringing which significantly affects
his adult life. You can infer that his mother is
dead because she is not mentioned. His father was cruel; he grew up in poverty.
Scrooge had been sent away to boarding school, he didn’t have friends except
for the fantasy books he read, and he spent a couple of Christmas’ alone
because all the other children in boarding school went home to their families
for Christmas, “The school is not quite deserted”, said the Ghost of Christmas
Past .”A solitary child, neglected by his friends, is left there still.”
Scrooge said he knew it.And he snubbed”. () Even though he was young and he
was experiencing a lot he did not let
that affect him, he still was open to giving
people a chance. Scrooge finally found love in girl name Bella, but she eventually had left him because he cared more about money than her. “This is the even-handed
dealing of the world. There is nothing on
which it is so hard as poverty, and there is nothing it professes to condemn
with such severity as the pursuit of wealth!” () Growing up poverty made him become in love with
money because he does not ever want to
experience being without again. Since Ebenezer life has practically been going
downhill his entire life; he treats
people how he was a treat. Hurt people, hurt people because they have experience getting hurt. Moreover, each one of us has
been hurt to one degree or another. As that damage causes us to become defensive
and self-protective, we may lash out at others. Hurting becomes a vicious

At the beginning of Stave Three, Scrooge has
already begun to change his hurt people hurt people attitude and started to
realized that he’s pushing himself away
from the very thing he wants and that company. In Stave One, Scrooge says to
the two portly gentlemen “are there no prison? And
the union workhouses?” (Stave 1: 50-51) …….

Scrooge in The Christmas Carol did not hate
Christmas he just hated the idea of being alone on Christmas. So, since he did not have anybody to spend it went he despised anyone who had a family to enjoy the holiday.
Described as a cold man “the cold in him
froze his features” the cold symbolize him being lonely while warmth symbolizes
people. Scrooge childhood created his
love for money since he grew up in poverty,
he feared going back, so he invested time
in his career. Which led his fiancé Bella to leave, because she did not like whom he was
becoming. Which contributed to him hurting
others, that’s how he expressed his frustrating to himself. However, did
change from that hatred, angry, and
selfish when the three ghost came and showed clips from his life. How other people had issues of their own,
but that did
not stop them from celebrating the holiday like Bill C and his son Tiny
