If a care setting used a service focus approach to manage risk assessments then the service user is likely to feel deflated, trapped and unimportant.

They may feel like their voice isn’t being heard, like they are being kept prisoner and may start to questions their independence. This in turn would massively effect a persons mental health, lowering their self esteem. It is often very hard to find a middle ground which pleases both the care setting and the service user when risks are involved, but you are more likely to find a happy medium if you take a person centred approach.
