I can still remember my childhood days when myrelatives always used to ask me “What do you want to do when you grow up?”.
Iwould just say “MS in USA” though I did not even know what it actually meant.But, as the years passed by, my academic background, areas of interest and theefforts I made towards research during my undergraduate program have stimulatedme to pursue Graduate Studies in Computer Science.I am really impressed by thepace at which the field of computers is evolving and playing a major role ineveryone’s life.I am looking forward to devoting my career to do research onmodern real-time environments and to excel in those fields. My biggestinspiration when it comes to hard work and success is my father.When I was 6, hemet with an accident and had to undergo a surgery in his thigh.
He had to bebedridden and eventually, he lost his journalist job.After 3 years, my fatherstood back on his feet and started his own restaurant struggling every day andhe has been doing great since then.He works for more than 12 hours a day.Thisis the level of confidence and inspiration I received from my father.
Being theonly child of my parents I always dreamt of making them proud by achieving mylifetime goals.I massively adore my parents for their hard work and success. Manyof my family members are from Computer Science background and I have watchedthem grow to great heights.
Computers subject was introduced to us right fromschooling days where we were taught basics of C and a bit of coding.Acomprehensive background in the field of Computer Science began at KeshavMemorial Institute of Technology where I got exposed to various core subjects likeC, Java, Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms ,DBMS etc.When itcame to Computer Science faculty ours was the best in our city.During my time at undergraduation,Ihave worked on two projects.One was on an Android application named “ProfileSwapper” which allows users to generate a private key through which they canswitch audio profiles of Target Android Device who have this applicationinstalled.My second and main project was “An Improved FP-Tree basedAssociation Rule Mining Technique.
” It overcomes the drawback of candidate setgeneration problem of the traditional FP-Growth Algorithm and proposes a newMining Technique. I got very good remarks for my projects. After myundergraduation, my immediate plan was to pursue Master’s degree but, I felt itwould be better to develop some professional skills for my upcomingendeavors.So, I joined Virtusa(Multi-national Company).Apart fromstudies, I play basketball and cricket.
Basketball made me a better personphysically and mentally.It is all about scoring baskets by understanding thedefender’s tactics and defend the basket by showcasing the teamwork.Currently, Iam a Hortonworks Certified Developer working at Virtusa as an AssociateEngineer in Enterprise Information Management.My work primarily consists ofHadoop and Java.
My responsibilities in my first project were to interact withthe clients and to perform data analysis on huge batches of data using Hadoop.Currently,I am into my second project where my team is working for one of the leadingbanks in England (Lloyd’s Banking Group).The whole aim is to draw insights byanalyzing huge amounts of data on Hadoop environment.My responsibilitiesinclude loading real-time and batch data into Hadoop, building data pipelinesusing Kafka, processing of data using Spark and designing and testing ofdatasets.Working at Virtusa really helped me to enhance my professional skillsand I was able to interact with a lot of good associates. I got good remarksfor being a strong work ethic and collaboration skills.Though mytwo years of job experience has provided me a good understanding of projecthandling, I am really passionate about acquiring in-depth knowledge of computerscience.So, I decided to study further.As the United States is a center ofexcellence for computer science, I wish to earn my Master’s degree from areputed university in the United States.I have hearda lot about the excellent faculty of Computer Science of University of NorthTexas-Denton and the future of students who have graduated from here from oneof my friends.I have gone through the program details and the subjects in theuniversity website and I am totally convinced that University of NorthTexas-Denton will be the best destination for me and will augment my ability inthe research field.I really wish to have the opportunity to work with theerudite professors of your university and enhance my qualities as aresearcher.I am sure that with the knowledge that I gain from your university, Ican fulfill my life goal of investing that knowledge into a start-up in mycountry.With all these goals in mind, I honestly feel that I am ready to pursueMaster’s degree from University of North Texas-Denton.I look forward to joiningas a Graduate student at your university..Thank youfor your time.
