Everyone in this town has most likely heard of Malala Yousafzai. If not, you are definitely missing out on a story about a truly miraculous girl. Malala is standing up for girls’ education in Pakistan, after the Taliban banned it in 2008. In honor of her bravery, the town, Swat Valley is opening five schools for girls in her name. 
Everyday she would hear a new story about a school being destroyed because girls were attending, yet she was still courageous, she was still strong, and she was still motived to speak out against the Taliban. She began writing a journal for BBC about her struggles going to school as a girl in Pakistan, she wrote under the pen name “Gul Makai.” To many, she was like a hero; fighting, and speaking out against the “bad guys,” in order to create justice, which was to get the rights young girls, and women deserve. When Malala was fifteen; her life changed. An attempted assassination towards her; left her wounded from a bullet of a Taliban soldier’s gun. 
This did not stop Malala from fighting, instead it made her stronger. She began campaigning globally for women’s education all around the world, not just Pakistan. The Malala Fund was started in 2013 to give all girls the opportunity to receive education. Through her work, she is helping girls in four different countries receive twelve years of free, and safe education in a quality school. In 2017 she went on a tour listening to the barriers girls have to their education. She would tell the girls’ stories that she heard, to world leaders, and hold meetings with them encouraging them to help girls around the world receive education.
Today, Malala is twenty and already have achieved so much. All that she has done amounts to a lot, and needs repaid. The schools, “Malala Yousafzai School for Girls,” will be opening in 2019, in hopes to support her, and her work, along with encouraging young girls to have the courage and strength and motivation; just like Malala did, to receive their education.
