According is capable of breaking boundaries and uniting

According to, music is defined as an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color. Though this definition is not incorrect, I feel music is much more than that. I have been a huge fan of music for a very long time. Being a member of the marching band since middle school has helped further make music an even larger part of my life.   I am currently a member of the Marching Musical Storm Marching Band here at Lincoln University. I have been a member of the Marching Musical Storm as a brass player since my freshman year of college, and before that, I was a member of the University City Golden Explosion Marching Band during high school. I have been blessed with a scholarship nearly every year of my college career and probably would not have made it this far without the assistance and guidance of my band director, Ms. Rhonda Harper, and the rest of my band family. Music for me has built so many friendships, relationships, networks, and values that I will hold for life. Music has also led me to become a man of Kappa Kappa Psi and dedicate myself to serving the band. Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization for selected college and university band members. The organization was founded on November 27, 1919 at what is now known as Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Kappa Kappa Psi primarily operates as an acknowledgeable society providing service, leadership opportunities, and social programming for band members. This organization has helped me further my love for music by serving my band program through music for the betterment of my band program and music. Music is an important aspect to my life and who I am as a person. Being a part of this fraternity has made me more of a role model to younger students because these are things I have accomplished with music. One of the greatest discoveries stumbled upon by man is music. Music has the abilities to grasp the soul and allows one to find an implicit yearning and sense of humanity from deep within ones inner being. The effect of music in a person is one that separates us from other species. Due to the high effect of music in the life of a human being, it is capable of breaking boundaries and uniting people from different backgrounds and cultural heritages, bringing us together as one. Music has very large voice with much to say. The best depiction of music is a radiant energy that has the power to unite people and institute a global brother and sisterhood. Because of the energy music holds in the heart, millions and sometimes even billions of people can be drawn to such events as concerts where their spirits can be inspired. For these reasons and more, music can be as an apparatus of harmony when there is confusion and disarray amongst people of different origins and backgrounds. You can easily notice this particular effect of music when you have issues with your partner and he or she started playing music that you love to hear. Even if you are a strong hearted human whose emotions cannot be easily changed, you may not settle the issue from hearing music but the annoyance in your mind will gradually begin to ease and subside with the therapeutic use of music. Music has such an effect on everyone helping with concentration, different subjects in school, psychological well-being, and different things in the public arena. If music somehow managed to be removed from everyone in the world there would be a drop in education, expression and the overall well-being of man. It would likewise damage the younger generations in all that they do from the time they are infants until they are full-fledged adults. Music is a wonderful human experience that can be seen in all aspects of life. Music projects can be an immense wellspring of joy for everyone. Whether you are a music enthusiast or not, the best way you can express your feelings is simply through music. It is rightly said that even when words and letters failed, the best alternative is music. You will be able to express the intent of your heart through music which ordinarily may not be possible for you to either do through words. In most cases, doctors and therapists normally recommend soft music for their patients. This is usually suggested because of the effects music has on the mind and well-being of the patient and their will to be revived, as well as hopes of living normal lives, or even surviving their illness in some cases. Music can provide joy and happiness to the mind of the, ill making it easier for them to respond positively to treatment. Possibly, you have been searching for away to reignite love and passion in your relationship with your spouse, and that is simply because you have not tried music. Really, no matter the pain in the heart of your spouse, the best solvent you need to melt the pain and replace the space with love and passion is simply gentleand soft music. In fact, music is love, peace, passion, creativity and capable of enhancing both the heart of mankind and its relationship with God. Although, music is not my main focus in college I have studied it and learned much about music from my wonderful band directors, other music professors on campus, and many of my fellow peers. They have further shown me the power that music holds and the strength I gain from it. There was this one song I heard from the Lincoln University Vocal Ensemble and University Choir at the spring concert called “This Is Why We Sing” by Greg Gilpin. The lyrics that stuck out to me the most were “Music builds a bridge it can tear down a wall! Music is a language that can speak to one and all!” Those two lyrics is the basic embodiment of my thoughts about what music is. Music is a true universal langue that speaks to all walks of life through many different channels. For all these reasons and many more music charms the soul, it is life! undefined undefined undefined
