This system provides the access to check the movement andcontrol (emergency stop by closing the fuel line) vehicles remotely by usingmobile application. The hardware prototype of the proposed system and the userapplication for monitoring and controlling vehicles are presented in thispaper. Keywords—Internetof things; Raspberry pi; Wi-Fi;                                                                                                                                                                I.          Introduction  With the increase in applications of variousembedded technology, vehicle security system design and tracking are improving. Many new techniques, like image processing, communication via biometricrecognition and so many interesting techniques have been implemented in vehiclesecurity systems. Simultaneously, the number accident of vehicles and vehicletheft still remains high.

We believe this system can create a better impact incontrolling accidents by monitoring over speed. Normally vehicle securitysystem depends on many sensors which are not affordable by everyone. It isalmost impossible to track a stolen or missing vehicle without the help ofsensors. So our paper aims to overcome the existing problem of vehicle theft bymonitoring and blocking the over speed vehicles without using sensors. The mainobjective is to measure the signals and to interface them with HDMI monitorwhich are then transmitted to the webpage through Raspberry pi to the trafficconstable and the vehicle owner’s Mobile using IoT. The Vehicle engine immobilizerusing GSM already exists. But it has drawbacks like, high roaming costs, tampering of calls and need for an external module for interfacingMicrocontroller etc. By implementing IoT we can overcome these drawbacks.

Internet of thing (IoT) is an advanced technology which helps devices to stayconnected among them. Each and every smart device can communicate with eachother with the help of Network. Internet is used everywhere from small mobilestill high end data servers. There are billions of devices which can be accessedor connected using IoT as shown in Fig-1. They can be paired together andexchange data across, or remote login to make life simpler. This paper presentsa combined effort to bring the Automotives & Android System together toserve the Purpose of vehicle tracking. A smart phone has over-ruled almost manydevices together and now we can use the same for the purpose of Centre lockingthe vehicle and tracing if missed. The proposed design provides informationregarding vehicle Identity, speed, and position on real time basis.

These informations are collected by the raspberry pi and send to the control stationwhere it stores the information in database. The outline of this project isthat, the stolen vehicle’s data will be collected from the owner, and is givento the police. Then the stolen vehicle’s data will be retrieved from thedatabase and transmitted to receiver (Raspberry pi). The receiver processes thedata which results in blocking of the engine.

Also, to block over speeding vehicles, the speed data is given from the transceiver and transmitted to the web page. This information is used to block the over speeding vehicle. Fig. 1 Block diagramrepresentation of interconnection of devices using IoT                                                                                                                                             II.        Component Specifications A.   Raspberry Controller  We use raspberry pi 3 in our projectas it has the added advantage of built in Wi-Fi. It is a credit card size computer.

The power is about 1.5 wattsto 6.7 watts. It can perform like your desktop. The storage capacity isMicroSDHC slot. It has a memory size of 1GB LPDDR2 RAM at 900 MHz. It isdesigned with 256MB of SDRAM and model B is designed with 51MB.The Centralprocessing unit is the brain of the raspberry pi board and that is responsiblefor carrying out the instructions of the computer through logical andmathematical operations.

The CPU memory is about 1.2 GHz 64/32 bit QUADCOREARMC. The raspberry pi uses ARM11 series processor, which has joined Samsunggalaxy phone. The GPU is a specialized chip in the raspberry pi board and thatis designed to speed up the operation of image calculations. This boarddesigned with a Broadcom video core IV and it supports OpenGL. The Ethernetport of the raspberry pi is the main gateway for communicating with additionaldevices. The raspberry pi Ethernet port is used toplug your home router to access the internet. The connection options of theraspberry pi board are two types such as HDMI and Composite.

Many LCD and HD TVmonitors can be attached using an HDMI main cable and with a low-cost adaptor 4.  B.    Solid State Relay A solidsate relay is a switching device that toggles between on and off when an external voltage of small amount is applied across the control terminals. In this paper, it is used as a switch to identify over speed in case oftheft actions.

The various specifications of solid state relay are as follows1.      ControlVoltage: 24-380V AC2.      InputVoltage    : 3-32V DC 3.      TriggerCurrent : 7.5mA/12V Fig.

2 Solid State Relay Varyingthe voltage across the solid state relay, results in controlling the fuel flow tothe engine. Finally immobilization of the engine takes place when maximum speedis reached, or when the theft action is detected.C.   DC Servo Motor We use DC servo motoras an indicator of Vehicle Engine in our prototype. A servomotor isa rotary actuator or linear actuator that allows for precise control of angularor linear position, velocity and acceleration.

It consists of a suitable motor coupled to a sensor forposition feedback. The servomotor isspecialized for high-response, high-precision positioning. A rotation detector(encoder) is mounted on the motor and feeds the rotation position/speed of themotor shaft back to the driver. D.

Optocoupler  Fig. 3Optocoupler Optocouplers or opto-isolators are used as asafe passage between the high power circuit and the low power control circuit. It is basically a signal converter between high Voltage pitot devices (limitswitches etc.) and low voltage solid-state logic circuits. They are mainly usedto prevent the damage of electronic components by isolating them from the highvoltages. It is just  an interfacebetween two circuits. E.     Step down TransformerA stepdown transformer has less turns on the secondary coil than the primarycoil.

The induced voltage across the secondary coil is less than the appliedvoltage across the primary coil or in other words the voltage is stepped-down.Transformers are mostly used to convert the 220 volts electricity to the 110volts required in most domestic equipment. Copper windings are much moreefficient than aluminum and many other metal windingsFig. 4 Step Down Transformer F.     Wi-Fi Modem  A wirelessmodem is a modem that bypasses the telephone system and connectsdirectly to a wireless network, through which it can directly accessthe Internet connectivity provided by an Internet service provider. It hasa range of 32 meters (105 ft).

IoT is expected to offer advancedconnectivity of devices, systems, and services that goes beyond machine to machine (M2M) communications andcovers a variety of protocols, domains.                                                                                                                                    III.        Working of functional Blocks A.

PowerSupply Block One of the basic building blocks of electronicsproject is building your own DC power from an AC source of 110 VAC or 220 VAC.The common DC voltages that are required to power up the devices are generallyin the range of 3 VDC to 30 VDC. Typically the fixed types of DC voltages are5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 18V DC.

With the advancement of technology, many devicesare using 1.8 V DC these days. SMPS is becoming common these days as the demandfor miniaturization due to space constraints increases.Take note that forlinear DC power projects, you need to use a step down power transformer to stepdown the AC voltage from the line voltage of 110 VAC or 220 VAC before using itto supply to the diode bridges.Fig.
